I Don't Want to Go to Heaven as Long as They Have Vulcans in Hell
Warp 11’s latest CD of music
only gets an OK rating from me. None of the songs stood out significantly for me,
unlike their previous CD “It’s Dead Jim.” Fans of thrash rock and Star Trek
will likely get some smiles from the CD though. Actually, I confess to a big
smile for the song title, “I Am Not Herbert,” which is in reference to Leonard
Nimoy’s book, “I Am Not Spock,” and the characters in the Trek episode
“They Way To Eden” who referred to those with rigid patterns of thinking as
“Herbert.”
Other tracks include, “Make it So,” “Fully Functional” (a
reference to Data's line to Tasha Lar, in reference to his artificial
genitalia), “They Put Creatures in Our Bodies” (referring to Chekov's line
about the neural parasites in Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan) and “What
Would William Shatner Do?”
