The idea
with “My Bird” was to reverse the idea of owning a pet fish,
and
so the mermaid owns a pet bird in an air filled upside-down fish bowl.
The original of this painting sold at a Banff science fiction
convention in 1989.
I don’t remember the original size, something close
to 20” x 26”
I had a hard time parting from this painting…
